23rd to 29th January is Cervical Cancer Prevention Week
Did you know that we can end cervical cancer?
Cervical Screening, HPV vaccinations and treatment for cell changes can all help this. Raising awareness is a key to this.
There are many reasons why people put off attending smear tests, the reasons range from embarassment, triggers, previous experience and time.
B Hygienic have been signed up for Time to Test for over a year now – your Employer should never be the reason you cannot attend health screenings – please ask them to sign up!
There are many resources out there to support you, answer any questions you may have and help you with the screening process. Both Jo’s and the Eve Appeal are great places to start.
Every year, Dougie Mac provides hospice services free of charge to adults, young adults and children living with a life-limiting illnesses in Stoke-on-Trent, North Staffordshire and the surrounding villages; also offering supportive care for their families and carers.
We, at B Hygienic, are taking part in the annual Douglas MacMillian Christmas Jumper Day on Friday 9th December, to help support the Dougie Mac. Raising money to help them continue providing our local communities with remarkable care!
You could join in too!
It’s as simple as digging out your favourite festive knit and getting together with your colleagues and/or friends to help raise funds for the Douglas MacMillian and register on the Dougie Mac website.
We are proud to renew our partnership with Big Blue Ocean Clean Up.
We all have a responsibility to ensure we are working towards better sustainability, which means we can meet our own needs without compromising future generations.
Big Blue Ocean Cleanup is committed to reducing the impact our non-profit operations has on the environment. They achieve this through measuring and reducing CO2 emissions to net zero through a combination of internal and external reduction initiatives.
Once again we are joining We Are Stoke helping those in extreme poverty in Stoke on Trent. We are a collection point along with Wincanton and Go Eat in Trentham.

More details on items that can be donated can be found on We Are Stoke website – www.wearestoke.co.uk/christmas
Throughout the month of December, people are joining together to ditch the shavers and growing a beard to support anyone and everyone affected by bowel cancer.
Did you know that Bowel Cancer is the fourth most common cancer in the UK, almost 43,000 people are living in the UK today that has been diagnosed with bowel cancer. Bowel cancer is treatable and curable especially if diagnosed early. We want to help spread awareness!
The symptoms of bowel cancer can include:
Bleeding from your bottom and/or blood in your poo
A persistent and unexplained change in bowel habit
Unexplained weight loss
Extreme tiredness for no obvious reason
A pain or lump in your tummy
Not all people with these symptoms have bowel cancer, but if you are worried, don’t be embarrassed to visit your GP – it won’t be a first for them!
We are always passionate about supporting events locally and we were honoured to be a sponsor of Stoke Pride 2022. These events are fun, full of entertainment and also so important in raising health awareness, increasing awareness of the services available to the LGBT community . The main aim to eradicate hate crime towards homophobia and transphobia all together.
This week is the start of Cervical Screening Awareness Week with Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust.
We kicked off the week with talks at Pride for anyone with a cervix to get screened. We had some excellent conversations about the booking process, the experience of the test and why it is so very important to get tested.
Huge well done to the organisers and thank you for letting us be a part of something so special.
